下絵（エスキース）のサイズを実際に測って、構図分割線を入れていきます。
そして、構図基本線を入れるならば、その線はボールペンで入れておくと、そこへ鉛筆で描き込んでいけば何度でも試行錯誤できます。A4サイズの紙を正確に半分に切ったものをエスキースとして使うこともできます。

あなたは、主役・準主役及びレイアウトはどうするかを決めていく際には、できるものであれば、あなた独自のテーマを考えてみましょう。
それは、例えば、寛ぎのひと時をシリーズ化、季節を象徴する花・果物・野菜で季節を表現、夜の街をシリーズ化、夕暮れ時を専門的に描くなど、あなたが描きたいと思えるテーマを見つけることであり、静物、人物、動物、風景すべてに言えることです。
その専門的なテーマが、あなたのオリジナリティーとなり、他の画家たちとの差別化を図れからです。ここは、いきなり大きな情報になりますが、あなたがこれから制作を進める際に、一番に考えるべき重要な点です。
それが、あなた独自のブランディングの構築になるということです。「この作風の絵はあの人の作品だな」と思われるようになりましょう。やみくもに描くことは、意味が少なく、効果的な展開には結びつきません。
どの上級者であっても、この部分は常に考え続けている点なので、早い段階から、あなたがこの点に気づいて検討を進めることは、重大な意味を持ちます。この点は、画家にとって一生考え続けていく部分だからです。
このことをわかりやすく説明するならば、モネの「睡蓮シリーズ」などはまさにこのことの実践なのです。
鉛筆画・デッサンの構成と目的：明確なビジョンの作成
今回の制作例では、以前からぼんやりと考えていた構想です。それは、手元に一枚の鳥の羽が落ちている、遠景に目をやると飛び去る鳥によって外界へ抜けていく、というような連続したイメージ。
一方では、窓から入り込む強い陽光にむかって誕生したばかりの植物の芽が、気持ちよさそうに全身で陽光を浴びている。
光の入り込んでくる窓の外の遠景には雲がただよっていて、外界の広がりを感じさせる。こんな感じのイメージを具現化することでした。
鉛筆画・デッサン制作のための必要物品：作品完成のための具体的な準備とその内容
そこで、その後何をしたかといえば、近所の図書館へ行き、幼児向けの絵本で「植物の発芽」という大きな画像付きの本を見つけました。
その本を広げてみると、まさに私の描きたかった、植物の誕生の瞬間が載っていたのです（朝顔の発芽の様子でした）。
その後、私が更に具体的に実行したことは、自宅で実際に「グリンピース」の種を10粒ほどプラスチック製の「バット」に蒔き、発芽のタイミング近辺で毎日連続して写真に収め、その何枚かは霧吹きで「芽」に水滴を作って画像を集めました。
また、図書館で鳥の飛翔する画像のいろいろなカットを確認できる写真集と、雲の種類を集めた写真集を借りてきて合成することにしたのです。

さらに、その躍動を強める主役の生命体の背景には、真逆の対象である死の象徴として「枯葉」を置き、「生と死の対比」をすることによって、より生命の躍動感を強調します。
今回の制作では、できる限り「神秘性」も表現できるように工夫することにして、そこで必要になることは、より濃い黒を効果的に使い、光を強調することでした。
今回の作品では、植物の芽と斜めに入り込んでくる陽光が主役ですが、鳥の羽と枯葉は準主役です。脇役は、遠景の鳥と雲群ということになります。
初心者のための鉛筆画・デッサンエスキースの作り方ガイド
まず最初に、あなたの身の回りにあるA4サイズの紙を用意して、それを半分に切り今回のあなたの作品の、まずはメモ描き程度で自由に構想を練りましょう。
フリーハンドや実際に測ってでも良いのですが、構図分割線を入れます。もしも、きちんと測って構図基本線を入れるならば、その線はボールペンで引いておくと、そこへ鉛筆で描き込んでいけば何度でも試行錯誤できます。
最終的に、あなたの気に入ったモチーフをあなたの気に入ったレイアウトに据えて、あるいは作品によっては構図上の不足する部分に他のモチーフも加えて補うことにより、エスキースを造ることができます。
具体的には次の画像のような基本線を引くことから始めます。
鉛筆画・デッサンのエスキース：構図基本線の引き方
まずはこのように、各種構図基本線を引きましょう。
鉛筆画・デッサンエスキースの技法：効果的な画面使用
メモ描き程度の構想を練ることが終了しましたら、次はあなたが取り組む本制作に入る画面の縮尺をかけたエスキースの画面に、構図基本線を引きましょう。
あなたが、本制作に入る画面の大きさをF10のスケッチブックのサイズで取り組むとして、そのエスキースをA4の紙の正確に2つに切ったもので制作する場合には、次のようになります。
鉛筆画・デッサンの基本：正確な縮小のエスキースの造り方
F10の短辺は454mm・長辺が528mmです。あなたが手元に用意したエスキースは、その短辺のサイズは148mmなので、F10の短辺のサイズ454mmで割ると、0.3259という数値が出ます。
そして、F10の長辺は528mmなので、この長さに上記の縮尺（0.3259）をかければ、172.07となりますので、あなたのエスキースの長辺を172mmにすれば、あなたが本制作に入るF10を正確に縮尺したエスキースの土台ができるということです。
鉛筆画・デッサンのエスキースへ黄金分割線を入れる
できあがったエスキースのサイズは前述のように、長辺が172mmなので、172÷1.618＝106.30なので、長辺の左右から測って106mmの位置が黄金分割点（線）になります。前掲の黄金分割構図基本線（横向き）の⑤⑥になります。
また、短辺は148mmなので、148mm÷1.618＝91.47なので、91.5mmの位置が黄金分割点（線）になります。前掲の黄金分割構図基本線（横向き）の⑦⑧となります。
鉛筆画・デッサンのエスキース技術：斜線を使った画面構成
次に、上記画像のように、長辺短辺の2等分割線（③④）及び各対角線（①②）を引きます。
鉛筆画・デッサンのエスキースの画面に斜線を引く
画面の上辺AB上の⑥から左辺AC上の⑧まで斜線を入れます。また、右辺BD上の⑦から底辺CD上の⑤までを結びます。
尚、画面左上の窓の幅は、画面長辺の1/7の幅にします。その1/7の幅を画面上部AB上の左角Aから取り、その位置から斜線②と交差する位置までの直線を引き、その交点から左辺ACへ線を引いて窓（抜け）とします。
そして、画面右上の「抜け」を強調するためにも、画面左上の「抜け」のサイズは小さくする必要があることと、それ以上の大きさにしてしまうと、主役の背景に効果的な黒い面積が確保できなくなるのです。
つまり、さまざまに試行錯誤した結果がこの1/7というサイズになったということです。
また、画面左上の「抜け」の右下の角は斜線②上にありますが、その角から左斜め下に描き込む斜線については、上辺AB上の⑥から左辺AC上の⑧までの斜線と同じ角度で線を引きます（分度器を使って正確な角度にしましょう）。
この各種基本線は、2Bなどの柔らかい鉛筆の軽いタッチで描き込みます。この時筆圧を強く描き込んでしまうと、のちの工程で練り消しゴムでは消しきれなかったり、跡が残ってしまうので、そのためにも筆圧をかけ過ぎず優しく引くことが必要です。
鉛筆画・デッサンにおける「抜け」の効果：多様な応用方法
この「抜け」があることによる効果は、観てくださる人の息苦しさを解消できます。それは、観てくださる人の意識が、その「抜け」の先にある外界のひらけた空間に向けられて、解放感を与えられるからです。
そして、その効果は心象風景以外のどのジャンル（花・人物・静物・動物・風景）にでも応用できます。
また、今回の「抜け」では、左上の「抜け」の中にある鳥が外部へ抜ける視線を遮り、右上の「抜け」へ視線を導いています。
尚、本来画面の中心点には、それぞれのモチーフがかからないように配置しますが、今回の制作例では、三角の構図や生と死の対比などをする関係から、画面中心点に枯葉がかかってしまっていますが、虫食いで中心点を外しています。
鉛筆画・デッサンの全体レイアウト：総合的な構成術
そして、描き込んだ基本線の黄金分割の位置にモチーフを置きますが、この点につきましては順を追って説明していきます。
また、この時に、作品によってはそれ以外のモチーフも検討して、各導線との交わり方や導線の導き方も同時に考えていきます。
今回の制作例では、モチーフの主役は植物の芽と室内に差し込む陽光です。そして主役の背景に、そのモチーフを引き立てるために死のイメージの「枯葉」を置き、主役を引き立てるべく影の部分に濃いトーンを入れていきます。
尚、一枚の鳥の羽を配置しますが、その羽の向きは斜線上に乗せると同時に、三角形の構図を意識して配置します。
鉛筆画・デッサンにおける中心点の扱い：慎重な構成方法
制作例では、画面の寸法上の中心点部分を虫食いで避けていますが、意識的に中央へモチーフを配置する場合は別として、複数のモチーフで構成する画面では、できるだけ画面の中心点を避けて制作しましょう。
それは、複数のモチーフなどで構成する画面においては、画面寸法上の中心点に、主役・準主役の中心を重ねてしまうと「動きが止まってしまう」ので、注意が必要です。
尚、人物画や動物画などで、画面の中の面積を大きくとる必要があるときには、これらのことは該当しませんのでご安心ください。^^
鉛筆画・デッサンの基本線とエスキース：整合性の確保
- 黄色線：構図基本線（各対角線・画面縦横の2分割線）
- 青色線：黄金分割線（上下左右の各2本）
- 緑色線：3角形の構図線
- 赤色線：斜線
今回の完成時のイメージは、画面左下の角Cから右上方の角Bへ抜けていく視線を意識しています。各構図基本線を使ってモチーフの位置・高さ・幅、あるいは中心点になるように考慮して画面構成を考えます。
そして、主役のモチーフを黄金分割構図基本線⑤上に配置します。また、準主役のモチーフである「枯葉」は画面右上の角Bからの斜線①上に配置して、中心点を「虫食い」で避けると同時に導線として活用します。
鉛筆画・デッサン制作時の視線の意識：鑑賞者の視点を捉える
全体のレイアウトをおこないながら、最終的な主役の画面上の輝き加減も考慮して、右上の「抜け」といえどもわずかにトーンを入れることにします。
そうすることで、黄金分割構図基本線⑤上にある主役の輝きを画面全体のモチーフの中で一番大きくして、主役を引き立てることができるからです。
そして、主役をより目立たせるために、その背後の「枯葉」には濃い目のトーンを使うことで、より主役を引き立てることも意識します。特に、陽光の明るさを強調するために、隣接する影の部分には濃いトーンをしっかり入れることにします。
鉛筆画・デッサンの画面構成：注意すべき重要ポイント
ここで肝心なのは、すべてのモチーフの中で主役・準主役以外のモチーフを克明に描き込み過ぎてしまうと、観てくださる人の注意をその部分に集中させてしまいます。
そこで、主役・準主役以外のモチーフに注意が集中しすぎないように描き込むようにします。つまり、「意識的に手を抜く」ということです。また、準主役の枯葉には、ある程度濃いめのトーンを2B程度で入れていきます。
また、鳥の羽も、細かく描きすぎないように注意しながら、影の中に消えていくように描き込みます。
これらのことを、A4の半分のメモ程度の紙に、「描いては消し描いては消し」を繰り返して、いかにして基本線を有効に使ったレイアウトや充分な強調ができるかを考えて、下描き（エスキース）を完成させます。
鉛筆画・デッサン本制作の準備：画面サイズの正確な測定が必ず必要な理由
スケッチブックのメーカーによっては、若干寸法が異なることがありますので、制作当初に実際のサイズを確認して、正確な構図基本線を引きましょう。
このことは、スケッチブック以外にも、例えばパネルに水張りをした画面で制作する場合の、F100やそれ以上の大きさの画面にも共通して言えることです。
あなたも制作を進める時には、実際に描き込む画面のサイズに合わせて構図基本線を引きましょう。この採寸を怠ってしまうと、全体のバランスが崩れてしまいます。これは最も重要な点です。
鉛筆画・デッサンの本制作：各種描線のテクニック
実際に制作する画面に黄金分割構図基本線を引きます。
構図基本線（対角線①②、画面横の2分割線③、画面縦の2分割線④）
黄金分割線（上下⑦⑧、左右⑤⑥、各2本…下記に詳述します）
鉛筆画・デッサンの黄金分割点：黄金分割による効果的な配置方法
次に、黄金分割構図基本線を引いた後には、既成のF10で制作を進める場合、私の使っているF10のスケッチブックの大きさは長辺が528mmで短辺は454mmです。
なので、例えば長辺の黄金比率を求めるならば、528mm÷1.618＝326.32となり、326mmの位置が黄金比率の分割点になります。この分割点は、左右どちらからでも設定することができます（⑤⑥）。
短辺も同じく、既成のF10で制作を進める場合には、454mm÷1.618＝280.59mmになるので、280.5mmの位置が黄金比率の分割点になります。この分割点も、上下どちらからでも設定することができます（⑦⑧）。
鉛筆画・デッサン本制作の斜線技術：導線と暗示
先ほどのエスキースのところでご説明しましたように、本制作画面へも斜線を入れましょう。ダブりますが改めて記載します。
画面の上辺AB上の⑥から左辺AC上の⑧まで斜線を入れます。また、右辺BD上の⑦から底辺CD上の⑤までを結びます。
画面左上の窓の幅は、画面長辺の1/7の幅にします。その1/7の幅を画面上部AB上の左角Aから取り、その位置から斜線②と交差する位置までの直線を引き、その交点から左辺ACへ線を引いて「抜け」とします。
そして、画面右上の「抜け」を強調するためにも、画面左上の「抜け」のサイズは小さくする必要があることと、それ以上の大きさにしてしまうと、主役の背景に効果的な黒い面積が確保できなくなるのです。
つまり、さまざまに試行錯誤した結果がこの1/7というサイズになったということです。
鉛筆画・デッサン本制作：構図基本線による整合性の実行
構図基本線上に、先ほど制作したエスキースに基づいてレイアウトします。実際に描き始める際には、まず全体を大づかみでとらえて描き進んでいきます。
正確に縮尺のできているエスキースに描き込んだ、モチーフの各要所の点は、エスキースの実寸を0.3259で割れば、F10のスケッチブック上に再現できます。主役・準主役のF10上で高さや幅などを求めることができるのです。
尚、このエスキースサイズをF10のスケッチブック上に再現する際には、0.3259で割り実寸を求められますが、他の大きさのスケッチブックへは対応できません。
他の大きさのスケッチブックの場合には、エスキースの正確な縮小をしてから行ってください。当然、縮尺値は異なってきますので、拡大の際にも数値は変わってきます。
さて、細かいことはさておいて、Bや2Bなどの柔らかい鉛筆を親指・人差し指・中指でつまむように軽く持ち、全体を優しいタッチで描いていきましょう。
そして、この段階では、今後あなたの制作作品によっては、必要ならば長め・短めの定規やコンパスもどんどん使いましょう。フリーハンドで直線や曲線を描くことは、制作を続けていく中でゆっくりと慣れていけばよいのです。
鉛筆画・デッサン完成時のレイアウトと構図の明確化
- 黄色線：構図基本線（各対角線・画面縦横の2分割線）
- 青色線：黄金分割線（上下左右の各2本）
- 緑色線：3角形の構図線
- 赤色線：斜線
モチーフを実際にレイアウトしますが、今回の「心象風景」では、上記の黄金分割構図基本線と三角の構図を意識しながら、上の画像のような状態をイメージします。
この制作例では、主役がいかに主役らしく見えるかが一番重要なので、背景に主役が目立つようにトーンを入れていきます。
一方では、画面右上の「抜け」も、「抜け」として充分目立ちながらも、主役を目立たせるためのトーンを淡く慎重に入れましょう。
また、枯葉を選ぶ際には、複雑な曲がり方をしている枯葉を選ぶのはやめましょう。この作品のエスキースにあるどこにでもあるような枯葉でも良いでしょうし、虫食い部分はあなたの都合の良いイメージで描けばよいのです。
鉛筆画・デッサンの他作品制作時のノウハウ：応用と実践
作品の制作にあたっては、構図基本線を意識してレイアウトしますが、作品によっては、画面に納まりきれない部分は画面の外にハミ出てよいのです。あなたの描く画面には、あなたの必要とする部分だけを切り取って描きましょう。
モチーフ全体を無理に画面に収めようとすれば、窮屈になってしまうからです。逆に、画面からハミ出ることによって、画面の外への広がりが表現できることになります。
このことは、どの作品を描いていくうえでも言えることで、重要なことなので記憶しておいてください。
尚、画面最下部の底線CD上にモチーフを「乗っけた」ようにレイアウトすることは、重大な禁じ手なのでこれも覚えておきましょう。
鉛筆画・デッサン本制作の構成：斜線導線の暗示技法
今回の制作例では、斜線①上には「枯葉」が、斜線②には羽が乗っていますが、あなたの他の作品を制作する際には、斜線が通っていることを画面上のレイアウトや、モチーフの凹凸なども含めて暗示するということです。
そして、小道具として、「水滴」や「枯葉の虫食い」なども上手に使いこなせば充分役に立ちます。また、この各種基本線は、2Bなどの柔らかい鉛筆の軽いタッチで描き込みます。
この時筆圧を強く描き込んでしまうと、のちの工程で練り消しゴムでは消しきれなかったり、跡が残ってしまうので、そのためには筆圧をかけ過ぎず優しく描くことが必要です。
鉛筆画・デッサンの理想的な画面への変換：本制作のアプローチ
そして、実際のモチーフの形状は構図の構成上修整することもあります。これは、どの画家もほとんど行っていることで、デフォルメと呼ばれています。
これらの構図基本線との重ね合わせは、構図の成り立ちを示すためでもあり、その暗示も含めて画面全体のバランスをとっているのです。
尚、デフォルメは、風景画の場合であれば、実際の景色には電柱や電線があっても、作者の意図する一番見映えのする画面にするために、省略してしまうこともあります。
それは、現存する状態に修整を加える事であり、「省略」「削除」「変形」「強調」「つけたし」「拡大」「縮小」など何でもアリです。
つまり、実際のモチーフの高さが足りないときには高くすれば良いですし、幅が広すぎる場合にはスリムにすればよいのです。要は、あなたが画面構成をする際に、「理想とする見映えのする画面」にするために存分に調整できるということです。
鉛筆画・デッサン制作時における諸注意：本制作時での細部調整
- 黄色線：構図基本線（各対角線・画面縦横の2分割線）
- 青色線：黄金分割線（上下左右の各2本）
- 緑色線：3角形の構図線
- 赤色線：斜線
最初に描き込んだ、全体の輪郭を取った際のたくさんの線を練り消しゴムで整理しますが、こののちトーンを入れていくところにある線はそのままにしておきましょう。なぜならば、そこへはこれからトーンを入れていくので消す必要がないからです。
そして、モチーフにかかっている線や抜けの中にある線は消しておきましょう。仕上げに向かって、明るい部分にするところにある無駄な線は、目立ってしまうので必ず消しておく必要があります。
また、練り消しゴムで消したところは、その後トーンを入れていくと、消していないところと比較すると鉛筆の乗り具合が少しだけ違ってくることがありますので、できるだけ練り消しゴムの使用は最小限にとどめましょう。

制作例の描き始めでは、画面右上から差し込んでくる光の横にあるトーンが一番暗いものになりますが、ここで注意が必要なのは、光の真横にある影の部分は一様に暗いわけではないということです。
抜けから入り込んだ光のすぐ横の影は手前に来るにしたがってぼんやりしたものになります（下図のピンク色線で囲んである部分）。
鉛筆画・デッサンの影の描写：距離による変化への注意
斜線部分の影の状態は、抜けから室内に入り込んで、上記画面上のピンクの線で囲んである分部が、手前に来るにしたがって淡く変わっていきます。あなたの身の回りの光と影の様子を観察してみてください。このようになっているはずです。
また、ここの描き始めは2Bから始めていますが、最終的に一番暗い壁面部分は6Bを使っています。
枯葉の斜めに横たわっている前面の地表部分は、地表面の一番手前付近はBで描き、その後ろには、地平線に向かって徐々にようすを見ながら少し濃くしていきます。
尚、主役の後ろ側にあるのは壁面ですが、ここのトーンはHBです。画面右上の「抜け」から左横側へ遠ざかっていくにしたがってトーンを濃くしていきます。
鉛筆画・デッサン仕上げのコツ：暗部と明部の強調
完成が近くなってきましたら、全体を観察してみて本来ハイライトであるべきところが、もう一つ明るくなくて、光っているように見えない場合には、その光っているべきところと隣接している部分や背景の黒さの度合いが足りていない場合があります。
光をより光らしくする場合には、隣接する部分や背景をより濃い黒にすることで、まぶしく光っているべき部分を強調することができます。
制作例で一番明るいところは、水滴と主役のモチーフのこれから広げるであろう葉の一部です。つまり、一番明るいところは下地の紙の色ということになります。
